Job Description
Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to support accounting operations for construction-related projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-volume financial work over an extended engagement while building hands-on experience in project-focused accounting. The role is well suited to someone with early-career accounting experience who can work accurately, stay organized, and assist with project reporting, cost tracking, and system-based financial tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day accounting activities tied to active construction and project-based financial operations.
- Assist with tracking project costs, coding transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple assignments.
- Prepare reconciliations, review account activity, and help ensure entries are recorded correctly and on time.
- Contribute to project accounting reports that help internal stakeholders monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
- Enter and maintain accounting data within platforms such as CMiC, Deltek, or Deltek Vision as needed.
- Partner with team members to organize documentation, verify billing details, and resolve routine accounting discrepancies.
- Help maintain compliance with internal accounting procedures and support audit-ready recordkeeping.
- Provide additional accounting support for large-scale initiatives and other finance-related projects during the contract period. Requirements
- 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or construction environment.
- Working knowledge of project accounting principles and cost tracking practices.
- Experience with construction accounting processes is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as CMiC, Deltek, or Deltek Vision is beneficial.
- Ability to manage detailed financial information with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in reviewing transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining organized records.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to support multiple priorities effectively.
