This role will partner closely with operations, plant leadership, supply chain, and corporate finance to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful insight into manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate has strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead people, projects, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory Oversee standard costing, product costing, labor rates, overhead rates, and variance analysis Lead the annual standard cost review process in partnership with operations and finance teams Review inventory-related general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, purchase price variances, production variances, and inventory trends Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to plant leadership and senior management Partner with operations to improve cost visibility, reporting accuracy, and business performance Support new product costing and provide financial analysis for product development decisions Review bills of materials, routings, labor assumptions, overhead allocations, and cost updates Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and GAAP requirements Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members Identify and implement process improvements across cost accounting, close, reporting, and inventory controls Support internal and external audit requests Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to manufacturing costs Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, supply chain, engineering, and plant teams Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required 5+ years of accounting experience, including cost accounting experience Prior leadership, supervisory, or team management experience preferred Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and general ledger accounting CPA, CMA, or active candidate status preferred ERP system experience required Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required Power BI or other reporting tool experience preferred Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills Ability to work cross-functionally with both finance and operations teams Ideal Candidate Profile You may be a strong fit for this role if you: Have strong manufacturing cost accounting experience Enjoy leading people and improving accounting processes Can explain complex financial results in a clear, practical way Are comfortable partnering with plant and operations leaders Have a strong attention to detail while also seeing the bigger business picture Like using data to identify trends, solve problems, and improve performance Want to grow within a stable, established company Equal Opportunity Statement The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
