Charlotte, NC Job Details Contract $60 - $70 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications VLOOKUP function Sales tax return preparation Collaboration Tax accounting Research Analysis skills Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Organizational skills Local tax Excel data analysis Full Job Description Senior Sales Tax Accountant Overview We are seeking a Senior Sales Tax Accountant to assist with the preparation and filing of multi-state sales tax returns and support various indirect tax compliance activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with large data sets in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Process and format large multi-entity sales tax data sets to meet state filing requirements. Prepare and file state and local sales tax returns through various government portals. Perform high-volume transactional data entry accurately and efficiently. Develop and maintain compliance and reporting calendars to ensure timely filing deadlines. Create schedules and coordinate work assignments for team members. Assist with property tax filings and compliance activities. Maintain business license schedules and related documentation. Assist with year-end tax schedules and reporting requirements. Research and resolve tax notices and compliance issues. Analyze tax data and prepare supporting schedules and workpapers. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 2-5 years of accounting experience. Mandatory experience with Sales and Use Tax compliance. Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales tax returns. Strong knowledge of indirect tax compliance requirements. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
. Experience working with Oracle preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Experience State and Local Tax (SALT) compliance. Property tax filings. Tax notice research and resolution. Multi-entity and high-volume tax environments. Business license management and compliance tracking.
