BASIC SUMMARY
Perform and support core accounting functions, including financial transactions, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute day-to- day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Communicate with vendors, customers, and PharPoint staff on issues or queries. Support and actively contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual close activities. Comply with all corporate policies and adhere to all GCP guidelines. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures. Provide input into department's goal setting process. Develop, document, and maintain accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance Contribute to strong internal and external client relationships through positive interactions. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Experience:
3 years in accounting or financial discipline, preferably in a contract research organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Proficient with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) and Excel.
Certification/Licensure:
Professional certification preferred (i.e., certified public accountant, chartered accountant).
Other:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand both written and verbal communication, type/work at a computer, and sit for up to 90% of the workday. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
General office working conditions, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Comments:
Must have a valid driver's license with no limitations on driving availability.
