We're seeking an experienced Accountant II to support the financial operations of our diverse real estate portfolio, spanning multi-family housing, education, healthcare, and commercial development projects. In this role, you'll be a key player in managing financial systems, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining the comprehensive accounting records that support our growing real estate holdings.
What You'll Do:
General Ledger & Financial Reporting Prepare and post journal entries with precision and timeliness Review and approve team member journal entries for accuracy and completeness Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations Prepare and review monthly financial statements Review bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy Accounts Payable & Receivable Execute accounts payable functions including vendor setup and W-9 management Manage accounts receivable and collections activities, including tenant collection efforts Specialized Functions Assist with annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations Support annual budget preparation and forecasting processes Prepare 1099 forms for year-end reporting Team Collaboration Cross-train on various accounting functions to enhance team efficiency Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests Contribute to process improvement initiatives
What You'll Need Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel Strong understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Superior attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Preferred Experience with MRI, Sage 300, Spreadsheet Server, or Bottomline systems Background in real estate and/or construction industry accounting CPA candidate or pursuing professional certification Experience with property management accounting and CAM reconciliations Samet is a leader in design-build construction and real estate development services headquartered in Greensboro, NC, with a market focus on Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Education, and Multi-Family Housing.
