The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction by teaching courses such as Intermediate Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Financial Accounting, and Advanced Accounting. This role requires a commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and innovative teaching practices. Candidates should possess a Ph.D., DBA, or Master's degree in Accounting, with a CPA or CMA designation preferred. Ideal applicants will have a combination of university-level teaching experience and relevant professional experience in the field. The position also involves student advising and mentorship, active participation in departmental and university service, and collaboration with faculty and administration to support the mission of the School of Business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and technological skills, with the ability to effectively utilize modern learning platforms and work collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment.
Education :
Candidates must possess a Ph.D., DBA, or Masters Degree in
Accounting Experience and Training :
Certified Public Accountant license (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred. Candidates preferred to have at least three years teaching experience at the university level at either full-time or adjunct level. Preferably at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Excellent verbal, written communication, computer skills, and analytical skills Ability to work cooperatively with others Must be able to leverage learning technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Classroom, Blackboard, WebEx, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Develop, coordinate, and teach content within High Point University's Phillips School of Business's undergraduate program. Courses may include Intermediate Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Financial Accounting, and Advanced Accounting. Provide mentorship and advising for students as appointed by Dean's Office and Department Chair. Provide service at the University at all levels, including serving on committees at the school and university level. Abide by University and School of Business policies.
