Job Description

General Ledger Accountant Join Trellis Supportive Care! Trellis Supportive Care is seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to perform the day-to-day accounting functions of the agency utilizing technical accounting expertise to support the Finance department. This is an opportunity to combine accounting experience with meaningful impact - supporting compassionate hospice, palliative and supportive care services in our community.
Key Responsibilities General Accounting:
Perform daily accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts. Analyze balance sheet and intercompany accounts on an on-going basis. Prepare analysis to assist in forecasting, future planning and the annual budget process as directed. Aid with vendor maintenance as needed. Provide backup with cash deposits and daily entries as needed. Experience utilizing computerized general ledger, accounts payable and financial reporting systems.
Month End Closing:
Assists in month-end journal entry preparation and posting. Completes preparation of account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Investigates and explains general ledger account variances to budget. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements by maintaining the workbooks and completing supporting disclosures and schedules as needed. Produce monthly benchmarking reports as directed. Generate investment portfolio analysis.
Annual Financial Audit:
Assists during annual year-end audit of the financial statements. Provides records and/or other information needed to answer questions from auditors. Minimum Qualifications Education - Experience - Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with a minimum of three (3) years general ledger, managerial finance and financial reporting experience required. Investment reconciliation experience strongly preferred. Astute ability to think critically and strategically. Strong attention to detail related to generally accepted accounting principles. Expert level with Microsoft Excel, general ledger, accounts payable, budgeting and financial reporting software packages required.
