Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a finance team in Camden, South Carolina on a Contract basis. This role supports accurate reporting, compliance, and financial oversight by delivering clear accounting data that helps leadership make informed decisions. The position offers a broad mix of general ledger work, reconciliations, audit support, and grant-related accounting responsibilities in a detail-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Record monthly journal entries and build supporting documentation to maintain accurate financial statements and general ledger activity.
  • Compile schedules and financial detail needed for audits, regulatory filings, budgeting activities, and grant reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate financial results by reviewing changes in revenue, expenses, operational volume, and related entity activity, then highlight notable trends or variances.
  • Monitor grant transactions from setup through reporting to ensure funding activity is tracked correctly and submitted on time.
  • Manage cash-related accounting tasks, including banking activity, wire processing, deposit review, and monthly cash reporting.
  • Examine account reconciliations prepared across the team, resolve discrepancies, and post adjustments when needed.
  • Review benefit-related invoices for accuracy, prepare backup schedules, and coordinate submission details with external vendors.
  • Create invoices for intercompany or related-party receivables as well as grant-based billing, and support collection visibility where needed.
  • Contribute to corporate compliance efforts by assisting with tax filings, audit requests, and other finance projects, while providing backup help in payables or payroll when required.
