Position Summary
The Manager
- Grants Accountant will play a key role in supporting schools by assisting the Assistant Business Administrator in managing district grants accounting. The Manager
- Grants Accountant ensures compliance with legal and best practice standards for financial practices, and prepares reports and recommendations based on the district's revenue and grant activities. The Manager
- Grants Accountant supports students by strengthening the district's financial health through management of its grants funding streams.

Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or closely related discipline
Three (3) years of experience in a business or government agency/school district providing administrative support services and/or coordinating work activities.
Knowledge of modern office management principles, procedures, techniques, and their adaptation.
Knowledge of survey techniques, statistical, and research methods.
A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
Required criminal history background check, physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Core Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Ability to acquire knowledge of division and department organization and programs.
Ability to organize assigned administrative work and develop appropriate work methods.
Ability to prepare statistical, financial, and other reports.
Provide guidance on NJ Homeroom to all Grant Managers.
Analyze monthly grant expenditures with Deputy Chief of School Finance and Grant Managers.
Provide monthly reporting to the School Business Administrator on grant expenditure patterns, amendments, final reports and other data that may become necessary.
Attend meetings with Grant Managers for compliance with fiscal grant requirements.
Ability to analyze problems and data and take or recommend action.
Ability to plan and supervise administrative control systems.
Ability to speak and write effectively and to analyze, edit, review, and interpret complex technical material.
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with outside offices, schools' agencies.
Ability to maintain records and files.
Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the Business Office.
Maintain Early Childhood Contract for vendors
Complete Early Childhood budget under direction of Director of Early Childhood and coordination of School Bus. Admin.
Provide billing services to Early Childhood contract vendors
Compiles and maintain any report on Early Childhood necessary for
Provide in-service training related to finances to the childcare providers as needed
Work with private childcare providers on budget development and execution, including monitoring provider expenditures for compliance with their approved budget and district requirements
Provide, as necessary, reports to Director of Early Childhood regarding budget and vendor analysis
Compiles, analyzes and submits data for state and federal reporting
Oversee the requisition development and submission process for all grant-funded procurement.
Provides guidance on grants audits and provides all necessary data for the same on the fiscal side.
Updates and maintains the Grant Team's requisition tracking system/database.
Maintains records and files for the district's major grant programs including capital purchases and coding
Plans, schedules, and attends meetings and conferences, and prepares after-action reports/notes
Interprets grant regulations, statutes and guidance
Performs research for various projects
Performs other duties as assigned by the School Business Administrator or designee

Terms of Employment
Twelve-month position. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment shall be in accordance with Board policy and applicable employment agreements.
Evaluation
Performance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy, administrative regulations, and district leadership evaluation procedures.

Minimum Starting Salary:
$90,000.00
Maximum Starting Salary:
$115,000.00
Residency Requirement
Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
