Job DescriptionJob Description About Us At United Way of Hunterdon County, we're building a stronger community through innovative, mission-driven work. Behind every program is a financial system that ensures accountability, transparency, and impact. We're looking for a part-time financial professional who can own our day-to-day finances with precision and independence. This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for managing the organization's financial operations. You'll oversee everything from bookkeeping and payroll to reporting and compliance-ensuring our financial systems run smoothly and leadership has the insights needed to make decisions. Core Financial Operations Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online Record all transactions, journal entries, and fund allocations Manage accounts payable and receivable Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements Track restricted and unrestricted funds Banking & Reconciliation Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Monitor cash flow and flag any issues proactively Resolve discrepancies quickly and accurately Payroll & Compliance Process payroll Maintain payroll records and ensure tax compliance Prepare W-2s and 1099s Support compliance with nonprofit financial standards Reporting & Close Manage monthly close process Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Provide regular reports to leadership Support budget tracking and variance reporting Audit & Grants Prepare documentation for annual audit in collaboration with leadership Track grant expenditures and reporting requirements Maintain strong internal controls Company DescriptionWe are committed to ensuring every individual has the opportunity to thrive. With an annual operating budget of approximately $1 million, we have been serving the community for over 30 years. Our dedicated staff of employees, along with dozens of volunteers, work tirelessly to support our mission. The Board of Trustees provides leadership and sets policy, ensuring stewardship of community dollars and overseeing funding decisions for agencies and programs. Working with United Way of Hunterdon County provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to positive change in the community.
