Job Description:
Robert Half is working with an architecture & engineering firm to hire a Bookkeeper/Accountant. This position will be responsible for the firm's full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role requires someone with strong accounting experience within the architecture, engineering, or related professional services industry who can work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for the organization Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate payroll administration Maintain the general ledger and oversee month-end and year-end close activities Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial reporting packages Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records Coordinate and assist with tax preparation, filings, and compliance activities Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting efforts Maintain and optimize accounting processes and internal controls Utilize QuickBooks for accounting management, reporting, and recordkeeping Partner with leadership on financial analysis and operational initiatives Support audits and work with external accountants, tax professionals, and advisors as needed Handle other high-level accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 5+ years of accounting experience within an Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), or related professional services environment required Strong QuickBooks experience required Experience managing full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities Prior payroll processing and financial reporting experience required Understanding of tax processes and financial compliance requirements Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and thrive in a hands-on environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
