In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in corporate and governmental accounting, financial software, and payroll management. Your proactive approach and technical acumen will help drive the financial integrity of our organization while supporting strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting processes. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable management, and account analysis to maintain precise financial records. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation. Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and performing internal audits as needed. Manage payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Paychex, ensuring timely and accurate payroll management. Utilize various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms for data entry and financial reporting. Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, tax experience, and financial concepts to optimize organizational financial health. Requirements Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP standards. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or equivalent systems. Knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP, Paychex or Kronos is highly desirable. Strong skills in data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices. Ability to perform detailed account analysis with precision in balance sheet reconciliation and accounts payable/receivable processes. Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping. Experience working with tax regulations or non-profit accounting is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in math skills like 10 key typing and account analysis for accurate financial data processing. Effective communication skills combined with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving within a fast-moving environment.
