Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as a Junior Accountant and play a vital role in supporting our organization's financial health and compliance. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills, work with cutting-edge financial software, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. As a Junior Accountant, you will assist with various accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assist with daily data entry and bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review general ledger accounts for accuracy. Help with month-end closing activities and financial statement preparation under supervision. Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and policies. Contribute to payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro. Assist in governmental and non-profit accounting functions as needed, ensuring adherence to relevant standards. Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Requirements Basic understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account analysis. Experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is a plus. Strong data entry skills with proficiency in 10-key typing and attention to detail. Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience supporting corporate or governmental accounting functions preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently. A degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred; relevant internships or prior experience are advantageous.
