Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working with small business clients, managing multiple engagements, and taking ownership of both accounting and tax functions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, and comfortable interacting directly with clients. Key Responsibilities Maintain and prepare books and records for small business clients Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) Handle general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries Prepare business tax returns, including: Corporate tax returns Partnership tax returns Payroll tax filings Sales tax returns Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules) Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and provide guidance Assist with tax planning and year-end strategies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations Identify opportunities to improve client processes and add advisory value Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA, EA or CPA candidate preferred) 5+ years of public accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized firm Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations Experience preparing business and individual tax returns Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, tax preparation software) Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and client service skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during tax season
