Job Description

Senior Accountant - High-Growth Construction Platform Overview We are partnering with a top-tier, rapidly expanding construction organization backed by one of the most respected infrastructure leaders globally. You'll play a critical role in financial reporting, project accounting, and analysis—working closely with operations and executive leadership. This role is ideal for someone who wants to step beyond traditional accounting , gain exposure to large-scale projects and joint ventures, and position themselves for future leadership opportunities. Key Responsibilities Own critical aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close , ensuring accuracy and timeliness Prepare and post complex journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger Lead balance sheet and income statement reconciliations , proactively identifying and resolving variances Deliver meaningful financial insights through variance and trend analysis to support business decision-making Support revenue recognition and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting using percentage-of-completion methodologies on large-scale projects Partner with leadership on joint venture accounting , including reporting, analysis, and coordination with external partners Manage and reconcile union-related liabilities and project-specific accounts Act as a trusted business partner to project teams—providing financial guidance and support to operations Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, insurance, and operations to support key business initiatives Play a key role in audit readiness , preparing schedules and supporting external audits Drive process improvements and internal controls enhancements as the organization continues to scale What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out High-growth environment with strong backing and significant investment across major infrastructure projects Exposure to large, complex, high-visibility projects and joint venture structures Clear path for career progression into leadership roles Opportunity to work directly with Senior leadership and operational teams A culture that values ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (construction or project-based accounting highly preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Hands-on experience with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting Proven ability to operate with autonomy while collaborating cross-functionally Advanced analytical mindset with strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders Experience with ERP systems ( JD Edwards experience a plus ) and strong Excel proficiency Highly motivated, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment Who Thrives Here We are looking for a high-caliber, driven professional who: Takes ownership and proactively identifies solutions Wants to be closer to the business vs. siloed in corporate accounting Is excited by growth, complexity, and impact Is looking for a long-term opportunity with clear upward mobility If you're a high-performing accounting professional looking to step into a role with visibility, ownership, and clear upward mobility within a rapidly growing organization, this is the opportunity to accelerate your career.
