Job Description Senior Accounting Manager Syracuse, NY | Hybrid Opportunity | Must reside in the Syracuse area We are conducting a search for a Senior Accounting Manager on behalf of a growing and financially stable organization based in East Syracuse. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing key accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting month-end close activities. The position will lead a team of accounting professionals while partnering with operational and finance leaders to improve processes, strengthen reporting accuracy, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment. Oversee inventory accounting activities, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of inventory transactions and balances. Manage month-end close responsibilities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. Review financial results and provide recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency. Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies. Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. Support internal and external audit requirements. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and best practices across accounting functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant inventory accounting responsibility. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
