Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting our organization's financial health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of accounting software and financial concepts, contributing to the success of a forward-thinking organization committed to excellence. As an Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and supporting audit processes with precision and enthusiasm. Duties Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies. Support payroll management using systems such as ADP or Paychex, ensuring timely processing and compliance with tax regulations. Reconcile general ledger accounts using software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft; perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies. Assist with internal controls compliance including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and audit preparations. Contribute to budgeting, financial reporting, and data entry tasks that support organizational financial planning and decision-making. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with payroll systems like UltiPro or Ceridian is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and double entry bookkeeping accurately. Strong mathematical skills combined with attention to detail for data entry and account analysis tasks. Experience working with financial software including Kronos for time management or Workday for enterprise resource planning is advantageous. Excellent understanding of financial services principles related to accounts payable/receivable, tax experience, and payroll management.
