Job Description

Role:
Senior Accountant Pay :
$80,000 - $110,000 / year
Benefits:
This role is eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401k. A Queens based property managment company is seeking a senior accountant to join a growing team.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Analyze financial data and generate reports for management review. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and timely. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies. Adhere to the monthly close schedule set forth by the Controller. Assist in preparing Income Statement/Balance sheet variance analysis and forecasts. Monitor material variances and provide management insights. Support external audit activities and preparation of audit schedules. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and assist with any filings around tax reporting. Mentor and train other accounting staff as appropriate. Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting. Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and implement approved improvements. Assist in implementing and upkeep accounting software e.g. NetSuite, related integrations and additional Accounting tools.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required. 3+ years of accounting experience in private industry and/or Big Four Accounting Firm Audit or assurance experience preferred, CPA plus NetSuite (or similar platform) highly preferred, Microsoft Systems and banking portal experience required. Highly organized with strong attention to detail Excellent understanding of fundamental accounting principles e.g. Revenue Recognition - ASC 606, ASC 842 Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
