Job Description

Growing construction company in New Rochelle, NY is seeking a Project Accountant to support the finance and accounting team. This exciting opportunity offers a competitve compensation and full-time benefits. The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal Project Accountant holds the following: 2+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry Software experience working with Timberline is a plus Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar The day-to-day responsibilities are as followed: Accounts payable duties would range from updating purchase orders to entering invoices to reconciling vendor and sub-tier subcontract statements. Accounts receivable duties would range from preparation of requisition drafts to submitting payment applications and lien waivers. Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial forecasts Monitor project expenditures and analyze variances against budget Prepare and maintain project financial reports, including cost-to-complete and profitability analysis Process project-related billing, invoices, and revenue recognition Ensure compliance with accounting standards, contracts, and internal controls Collaborate with project managers to provide financial guidance and insights Track labor costs, materials, subcontractor expenses, and overhead allocations Assist with project audits and support internal/external audit requests
