Job Description

Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for a nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment, and possess strong technical and analytical skills. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while helping ensure the organization's financial integrity and compliance. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Process accounts payable transactions and vendor payments. Manage invoice approvals and payment workflows through Bill.com. Assist with accounts receivable, cash receipts, and donor revenue tracking. Support grant and program expense tracking as needed. Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management. Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation. Assist with audits and other compliance-related activities. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience is a plus. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Required Software Skills QuickBooks Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic formulas) Bill.com Google Sheets Preferred Attributes Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
