Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role reports directly to the Controller and will play a key part in supporting the monthly close process, with a strong focus on account reconciliations, partnership revenue reporting, and payroll-related accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced nonprofit environment. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare and maintain bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations Perform partnership reconciliations including tracking receivables and resolving variances Support payroll and benefits reconciliations, including tie-outs between payroll reports, GL, and benefit providers Prepare and post journal entries in NetSuite, including accruals, reclasses, and monthly close entries Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Perform account analysis and variance explanations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts Support audit requests by preparing schedules and providing documentation Assist in improving accounting processes and strengthening internal controls Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Group Sales, and Business Development Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required 24 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP; knowledge of nonprofit accounting is a plus Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close required Experience with payroll accounting or benefits reconciliation is a strong plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with NetSuite (preferred) and/or similar ERP systems Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and organizational skillsIntrepid realizes that it is rare an applicant meets 100% of the qualifications for a given role.
