New York, NY Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $80,000 a year 1 hour ago Qualifications Spreadsheets Basic math Driver's License Bachelor's degree Attention to detail GAAP Master of Science Accounting Stakeholder relationship building Excel data analysis Full Job Description Staff Accountant Galaxy Universal LLC | New York, NY | 2-3 Years Experience Galaxy Universal is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger activities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities- Support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and proper transaction coding
- Review invoices for proper GL classification prior to posting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist in the payment review process, including banking information checks
- Partner with AP/AR teams to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Assist with audit support and financial reporting schedules
- Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc requests Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Understanding of US GAAP fundamentals
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and pivot tables
- Experience with Esker and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
- Ability to offer solutions through independent learning and problem solving
- Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and strong organizational skills
