Position Title:
Part‑Time Fiscal Accountant Status:
Part‑Time, Non‑Exempt Reports To:
Executive Director (with coordination with external fiscal consultants as applicable) Maternal Infant Services Network (MISN) is a nonprofit organization serving the Hudson Valley, focused on improving maternal and infant health outcomes through education, advocacy, and community‑based programs. MISN is seeking a Part‑Time Fiscal Accountant to support grant accounting, vouchering, and fiscal compliance for New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and other government‑funded programs. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely reimbursements, and audit‑ready documentation. Candidates with prior NYS DOH or government grant experience are strongly preferred. Candidates with nonprofit accounting experience and a willingness to learn DOH vouchering processes are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Prepare and submit NYS DOH and other government grant vouchers with required supporting documentation Track expenditures against approved grant budgets and funding sources Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting standards Support payroll allocations and labor distribution across multiple grants Assist with monthly reconciliations and internal financial reviews Maintain organized, audit‑ready fiscal files and documentation Support Single Audit preparation, SEFA schedules, and responses to auditor or funder inquiries Assist with fiscal monitoring visits and compliance reviews Collaborate with the Executive Director, program staff, and external fiscal consultantsQualifications Required:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or 3-5 years equivalent nonprofit accounting experience Experience with nonprofit accounting and/or reimbursement‑based funding, or strong willingness to learn NYS DOH fiscal and vouchering requirements Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple deadlines Proficiency in accounting software andMicrosoft Excel Preferred:
