Job Description
Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. This is your chance to make a real impact. You'll be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing regulatory reporting, and collaborating with various departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets) and regulatory reports (NCUA 5300 Call Reports). Perform financial research, monitor financial conditions, and present recommendations. Assist with daily, weekly, and month-end accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Ensure all reports, accounts, and systems comply with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Support with internal and external audits. Attend meetings and participate in assigned committees. Manage cash accounts, prepare daily entries, and investigate variances. Assist with annual budgeting and monthly variance analysis. Support Accounts Payable functions as needed. Collaborate with colleagues on high-volume accounts and reconciliations. Implement process improvements and streamline workflows. Ensure transactions are properly authorized and comply with company policies. Stay up-to-date on relevant federal and state regulations.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred, with 5-8 years of accounting experience (banking or similar environment). Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP. Experience with general ledger/reporting, Excel, and financial analysis tools. Understanding of economic markets, industry conditions, and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
