Job Description

Join the Skyland Grain team today! With roots from one of our parent companies dating back to 1915, Skyland Grain, LLC is a grain farmers' co-op providing producers with the supplies and services their operations need to succeed today and in the future. We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to join our team at one of our Skyland Grain office locations.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Accountant I position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, and supporting financial reporting and compliance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and maintain accounting records, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Record and process financial transactions accurately and timely. Enter daily sales and contract transactions and assist with invoicing activities. Support inventory and cycle count processes. Maintain organized financial records and documentation. Assist with financial reporting and analysis. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies. Support internal and external audit activities. Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required. One to three years of accounting or related experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
