ATR (Position) Position Details Search Number CPJ # 8985 Title Payroll Examiner 2 (Temporary) Category Clerical/Maintenance/Service Department Human Resource & Payroll Services Position Summary This position is part of the department's succession planning efforts and will train alongside the current Payroll Examiner 2 withinHuman Resource & Payroll Services. As a member of the Administration and Finance division, Human Resource & Payroll Services provides essential support to campus stakeholders as well as local, state, federal, and international partners. The division is responsible for the stewardship of the University's human, physical, financial, and technical resources. Through collaborative and thoughtful engagement, our team plays a key role in supporting the University's educational mission. The anticipated work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

The Payroll Examiner 2 oversees the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including appointments, leaves, salary changes, and payments in the SUNY HR Employment System. Responsibilities include maintaining payroll records, calculating salary transactions, ensuring compliance with State and SUNY policies and deadlines, preparing reports, updating procedures, and interpreting payroll and time and attendance regulations. The position also supervises a Payroll Examiner 1 through training, work assignment, evaluations, and performance management.
