Job Description

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.

Assistant Controller Position Purpose:
The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepare and post journal entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students' revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and reserves. Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations. Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations. Assist with schedules and journal entries for grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements. Assist Assistant Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records. Work on projects and respond to requests from other Finance and non-Finance groups on campus. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Job requirements:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders. Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in public or private accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel CPA a plus. Workday a plus
Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
