Job Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support financial and inventory reporting activities for a food manufacturing operation in Syracuse, New York. This Long-term Contract position will play an important role in producing accurate daily and monthly analyses tied to plant, cooler, and warehouse performance while helping maintain reliable accounting records. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, comfort working with operational data, and the ability to collaborate with plant leadership and accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review daily operational and inventory variance reports across multiple departments, including production, storage, and distribution.

  • Entering and reconciling inbound shipment documentation
  • Recording daily production outputs
  • Logging incoming goods into storage facilities
  • Processing receipts for materials and supplies
  • Maintaining raw material inventory records
  • Tracking product adjustments, rework, and write-offs
  • Updating month-end inventory counts for materials and supplies
  • Performing daily inventory reconciliations and partnering with operations to investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Entering and maintaining production batch information
  • Analyzing daily inventory variances within storage locations
  • Supporting month-end reporting related to material usage and inventory loss
  • Monitor and report on bulk transfers between locations to ensure accurate tracking and documentation
  • Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and process them through the company's accounts payable system
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready operational documentation and records
  • Generate and distribute recurring and ad hoc operational reports
  • Provide analytical and project support to site leadership
  • Collaborate with the finance team on cost tracking, reporting, and special projects
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
