REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT / PROPERTY ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
Position Overview Downtown Syracuse-based Real Estate/Development Company seeking a part time detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Property Accountant to assist the accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong bookkeeping, accounting, and financial analysis skills, along with the ability to work independently while supporting a variety of financial and operational functions across a diverse real estate portfolio. Key Responsibilities Property Accounting Review and reconcile tenant rent rolls, lease charges, Lease inputs. Prepare CAM reconciliations, and operating expense recoveries. Record and monitor rental income, security deposits, and tenant receivables. Ensure lease provisions are accurately reflected in accounting records. Assist with tenant billing and collection activities. Record deposits and reflect accurate records of tenant accounts. Areas of support Accounts Payable & Receivable Assist in processing and inputting vendor invoices and tracking vendor records. Auditing tenant records and payments to ensure accurate customer accounts. Monitor accounts receivable and work with management staff regarding delinquent accounts. Reconcile bank accounts and assist in cash management activities. Qualifications Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management experience required Experience with QuickBooks required; Property Management Software AppFolio experience is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis and reporting. Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to support various aspects of a small business environment. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Attributes Experience in real estate accounting, property management, or development environments. Familiarity with tenant billing, lease administration, and property operations. Desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting with exposure to multiple facets of the real estate industry.

Downtown Syracuse, NY Schedule:
Part-Time 20+ hours per week. Potential for full time schedule.
