Job Description
Are you a tax professional ready to take the next step? We're hiring a Staff Tax Accountant to join our growing accounting team. In this role, you'll support monthly and year-end close for a multitude of different types of clients and businesses, prepare federal and state tax returns, and assist with tax planning strategies. You'll also manage NYS sales tax filings and payroll tax reporting — making this an ideal fit for someone who wants broad, hands-on tax experience. What you'll do: Assist with monthly and year-end close (journal entries, reconciliations, reporting) Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns Support tax planning to minimize liabilities File and manage NYS sales tax returns and compliance Prepare payroll reports and tax filings (941, NYS-45, W-2s, 1099s) Communicate with the IRS and state/local taxing authorities to resolve notices, disputes, and tax issues What we're looking for: 2-4 years of tax or accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Familiarity with tax software (UltraTax, Drake, or similar) CPA or working toward licensure a plus Self-starter who can work independently, resolve issues, and increase efficiencies.
