Job Description

The Senior Director of Accounting and Administration leads the company's accounting function across multiple corporate entities and affiliate companies. This role is responsible for ensuring the absolute integrity of financial reporting, managing effective cash flow, and maintaining rigorous internal controls. As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Director oversees day-to-day accounting operations, supports operational decision-making through financial insight, and ensures the Human Resources function is strategically aligned with the firm's business needs.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES. 1.
Comprehensive Accounting & Financial Oversight Financial Reporting :
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes for all entities, ensuring that financial reporting is timely, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP.
Taxation & Compliance :
Prepare and conduct the final review of tax returns for multiple entities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Cash Flow & Budgeting :
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, supporting the budgeting and forecasting process to provide clear operational insights to leadership.
Internal Controls:
Establish and monitor internal controls and risk management practices to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Audit & Regulation :
Ensure organization-wide compliance with all financial, employment, and operational regulations. 2.
Owner-Related Services Tax Coordination:
Coordinate the preparation and filing of personal tax returns, ensuring all private financial data is handled with absolute confidentiality.
Executive Advisement:
Keep leadership informed of major financial updates, organizational risks, and key business issues. 3.
Human Resources & Organizational Leadership HR Strategy :
Serve as a strategic partner to the HR function, helping to set departmental priorities and ensuring HR initiatives align with broader business goals.
Benefits Oversight :
Assist with the evaluation, selection, and administration of organization-wide benefit programs.
Mentorship & Supervision:
Directly manage and develop a professional team, including the Controller, Senior Accountants, and the Director of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (Concentration in Accounting) required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in accounting, finance, or general management, preferably within a privately held company with multiple business entities.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in property management or accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Sage 300 CRE).
Core Competencies:
Strong financial acumen in budgeting and forecasting; ability to drive organizational performance across cross-functional teams; and the ability to maintain a professional temperament in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Setting:
Work is performed in a modern corporate office environment with occasional local travel to affiliate properties.
Requirements:
