Sr. Accountant- Construction

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant specializing in Construction to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the accounting functions related to construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and seamless financial operations. Your expertise will drive the integrity of our financial data, support project budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to the overall success of our construction initiatives. Duties Manage and oversee all aspects of construction-related financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Prepare detailed financial reports, statements, and analysis to support project management and executive decision-making. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Account Reconciliation:

• Balance accounts, ledgers, and reporting results to Controller
• Provide financial analysis and month-end reporting support to president and controller
• Manage inter-company processes with sister agencies and investments
• Construction job costing for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors

Billing:

• Responsible for processing of billing and contractor files
• Oversee client set-up and accounts receivable process
• Review vendor payment process

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Construction Accounting
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sr. Accountant
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, PWP, Excel, Outlook)
• ComputerEase accounting software preferred but not required
• Knowledge of sales tax a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles
