Construction Project Accountant

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support financial operations for construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and internal teams to manage job costing, billing, WIP reporting, and financial performance across multiple projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience in construction accounting and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Project Accounting & Job Costing Set up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and job data Ensure accuracy of job cost tracking and reporting Billing & Revenue Management Manage AIA billing, progress billing, and unit price billing Ensure invoices align with contract terms and are submitted on time Track lien waivers and subcontractor documentation WIP & Financial Reporting Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports Monitor project performance including cost-to-complete and gains/fades Provide financial insights to leadership Change Orders & Cost Control Track and manage change orders, extra work orders, and force accounts Ensure proper accounting and billing adjustments Accounts Receivable Monitor outstanding invoices and support collections Work with Project Managers to improve cash flow Budgeting & Forecasting Assist with project forecasting and budgeting Support financial planning and overhead analysis QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 5+ years of construction accounting experience Strong understanding of: Job costing WIP (Work-in-Progress) Percentage-of-completion accounting Preferred Experience with construction ERP systems (Foundation, Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, etc.) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
