Job Description

Accountant Atomic Industries, Inc. Cleveland, OH Job Details $75,000 - $90,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description About Atomic Atomic Industries is reinventing how the world makes things. From cars and aerospace systems to medical devices and packaging, most physical goods begin life in a mold or are shaped by a manufacturing tool. Producing these tools has always been slow, manual, and dependent on scarce expertise, taking weeks or months. We're changing that. At our Detroit headquarters, we combine the industrial DNA of America's manufacturing heartland with the speed, intelligence, and precision of Silicon Valley. Our AI-driven platform tackles the hardest problems in geometry, process planning, and fabrication, collapsing production timelines from months to days and soon, minutes. We don't just build software; we run a fully operational factory where our technology produces production-grade tooling every week, enabling tight feedback loops and rapid iteration. Backed by top-tier investors, we're restoring speed, flexibility, and capability to the American industrial base. Our mission is to make manufacturing as agile and scalable as the digital world, and in doing so, rebuild the infrastructure of the physical economy. Role Overview We're hiring an Accountant to own day-to-day General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable Operations at Atomic. You will manage the full vendor invoice lifecycle, process customer invoicing and collections, and ensure accurate, timely transaction flow through our accounting systems. Additionally, you will own journal entry preparation and account reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting and related disclosures. You'll work closely with the Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team to build the transactional backbone of a complex, AI-driven manufacturing business. This is a high-impact role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and excited to help establish the processes that will scale with the company. Key Responsibilities Own the preparation and submission of journal entries and account reconciliations. Process vendor invoices end-to-end, including three-way matching against POs and receiving documentation, GL and cost center coding, and routing for approval through Ramp. Manage payment runs across ACH, check, wire, and corporate card, ensuring timely disbursement and adherence to vendor terms. Maintain vendor master data, payment terms, W-9 collection, and 1099 reporting compliance. Generate and issue customer invoices, including milestone billing, down payments, and shipment-based invoicing across mold making and part production jobs. Own accounts receivable aging, including proactive collections outreach, payment reminders, and dispute resolution to minimize DSO. Apply customer payments, post cash receipts, and reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger. Reconcile vendor statements, research and resolve invoice discrepancies, and partner with the Purchasing Coordinator to ensure PO and receiving accuracy. Support month-end close by preparing AP and AR reports, accruals, and reconciliations as needed. Assist with financial reporting and related disclosures. Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all transactions. Identify opportunities to improve and automate processes as transaction volume grows. Qualifications 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing, distribution, or other high-transaction-volume environment. Hands-on experience with the full AP cycle, including three-way matching, GL coding, and payment processing. Hands-on experience with the full AR cycle, including customer invoicing, cash application, and collections. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system. Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, aging analysis, and ad hoc reporting. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under high transaction volume and deadline pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to vendor and customer interactions. Ability to work independently, prioritize across competing demands, and proactively flag issues. Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. Nice to Have Experience with Ramp or similar spend management platforms. Experience with an ERP system such as Fulcrum, NetSuite, or similar in a manufacturing context. Familiarity with 1099 reporting, sales and use tax, and basic GAAP concepts. Experience supporting external audits or financial diligence. Background in a high-growth or venture-backed company.
