Job Description

Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role works closely with management to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with annual audits and provide documentation requested by external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review financial data for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
  • Support tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred. Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial accounting experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
