Commercial Construction Location:
Columbus, OH Compensation:
Up to $165K base + Bonus + Full Benefits My client, a highly respected commercial construction firm with a strong presence throughout the Midwest, is looking to add a Senior Project Accountant to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction accounting professional who wants to work on large, complex projects while partnering closely with project teams and leadership. The company is known for its strong culture, long-term employee retention, and consistent project pipeline across commercial, healthcare, industrial, and institutional markets.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage owner billings in accordance with contract requirements Administer projects with complex contractual requirements including certified payroll, prevailing wage, diversity participation, and TIF reporting Prepare Cost Plus, GMP, and Lump Sum billings Track subcontractor lien waivers and support project financial compliance Review monthly financial reporting, job cost analysis, and profit projections Identify financial risks and communicate potential issues proactively Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle Assist with project closeout, accruals, reconciliations, and final financial reporting Review and approve client billings prepared by Project Accountants Mentor and support junior accounting staff
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred 5+ years of construction accounting experience Experience with commercial construction projects strongly preferred Knowledge of project accounting, job costing, and owner billings Experience with construction management software (CMiC preferred) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Why Consider This Opportunity?
