- Our client, an industry leading manufacturing company who has been in business for over a century is looking for a Sr.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver cost and operational analysis that helps finance and plant leadership evaluate performance, identify trends, and support strategic decisions.
- Maintain standard costing data by reviewing labor and overhead assumptions and updating cost structures as needed.
- Examine manufacturing results, including absorption, purchase price, material usage, and standard cost variances, and communicate actionable findings.
- Record journal entries for assigned facilities and complete reconciliations to ensure financial information is accurate and properly supported.
- Prepare and distribute inventory reports by site, highlighting significant changes, concerns, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Coordinate annual physical inventory activities and monitor cycle count practices to strengthen accuracy and compliance at the plant level.
- Partner with site leadership to identify inventory discrepancies, escalate irregularities, and reinforce sound internal control practices.
- Contribute to forecasting and budgeting by providing facility-specific analysis, commentary, and financial insights to accounting and operations leaders.
- Build collaborative relationships across operations and participate in meetings related to product lines, plant performance, and process improvement.
- Maintain documentation, assist with cross-training, and complete ad hoc reporting or special projects tied to cost accounting and inventory management.
Requirements Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, cost analysis, and manufacturing variance reporting, including PPV.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Experience with Oracle and reporting tools such as Power BI is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, manage deadlines, stay organized, and maintain close attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well across finance and operations teams.
