!! Our client, a very reputable company, has all of this. They are looking for a Staff Accountant due to an upcoming retirement! Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate discrepancies. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. Prepare supporting schedules and account analyses for financial reporting. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules, documentation, and audit requests. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. CPA or CPA eligibility required. Minimum of 3 years of progressive/related accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software preferred. Preferred Qualifications Public accounting experience a plus. Experience supporting annual audits and financial statement preparation preferred.
