Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Solon, Ohio on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is well suited for an accounting specialist who enjoys supporting both day-to-day financial activity and broader cost accounting functions. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across accounts payable, inventory-related accounting, close processes, and budgeting while partnering closely with accounting leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable activities with accuracy and timeliness, including invoice review, coding, and payment support.
• Perform cycle count reconciliation and assist with inventory accounting to help maintain reliable financial and operational records.
• Support cost accounting processes by analyzing product and inventory-related data and identifying variances that require follow-up.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close procedures by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and organizing supporting documentation.
• Assist with budgeting activities by gathering financial information, updating reports, and helping leadership evaluate spending trends.
• Partner with the Controller on daily accounting priorities and provide support for special projects and reporting needs.
• Maintain accurate records within the ERP system and help ensure transactions are recorded consistently across accounting workflows. Requirements
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to cost accounting or inventory-related accounting functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing and account reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of inventory management, including cycle counts and inventory variance review.
• Familiarity with month-end close, year-end close, and budgeting processes.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Epicor or a comparable platform.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take initiative beyond core responsibilities.
