Pay Range:
$25-35/hour, depending on experience and skillset
Position Overview:
We are working with a client seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations with a primary focus on accounts receivable, collections, cash management, and customer account reconciliation within a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate, process, and distribute customer invoices and account statements. Maintain accurate accounts receivable balances and aging reports on a weekly and monthly basis. Perform proactive collections efforts through phone calls, emails, and customer follow-up communication. Research, document, and resolve customer billing disputes in coordination with internal departments, including Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service. Process customer payments, daily deposits, write-offs, and bad debt adjustments with proper documentation and approvals. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash management activities. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance explanations. Maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates and assist with sales tax reporting activities. Assist with audit requests related to accounts receivable, cash activity, and revenue recognition. Ensure compliance with internal accounting controls, company policies, and quality standards. Maintain organized financial records and provide administrative accounting support as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of accounting, staff accounting, accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience required. Previous manufacturing, industrial, or distribution accounting experience highly preferred. A high school diploma is required. An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
