JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading the reporting of all quarterly and annual statutory filings; ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with reporting requirements; managing annual statutory audits and regulatory examinations; maintaining internal controls; overseeing the daily operations of the department and providing statutory insights to leadership. The Senior Manager Statutory Reporting monitors, implements and applies new statutory reporting requirements, accounting standards, regulatory changes and accounting principles. Serves as the point of contact for OID inquiries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the preparation, review, and timely submission of all quarterly and annual statutory filings such as NAIC Health Blank, Risk-Based Capital reports, Supplemental Health Care Exhibits. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements issued by OID, CMS, and other governing bodies. Monitor and implement new statutory reporting requirements, accounting standards, and regulatory changes. Interpret and apply statutory accounting principles (SAP) to ensure accurate and consistent reporting. Serve as primary point of contact for OID inquiries and support regulatory relationships. Review and respond to OID inquiries and requests. Partner with actuarial, finance, legal, and compliance teams to gather data and ensure alignment with statutory reporting requirements. Manage the preparation and coordination of annual statutory audits and regulatory examinations. Provide insights and commentary on statutory results to internal leadership and regulatory agencies. Maintain internal controls and documentation to support the accuracy and completeness of statutory filings. Lead, plan, and oversee the daily operations of the department to support statutory reporting and regulatory compliance; drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and automation initiatives. Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong research, analytical, and interpretive skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and present information in a clear, logical format. Demonstrates a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills. Highly adaptable, with the flexibility to manage changing priorities and evolving workloads. Communicates clearly, concisely, and effectively across all levels of the organization. Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or in a related field. Masters Degree in Accounting preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in an accounting field. Prior statutory accounting experience. Prior public accounting experience preferred.
