This role is responsible for collections, payment posting, invoice entry, vendor communication, and maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with accounting data in Excel.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including monitoring outstanding invoices, posting customer payments, and maintaining accurate account records in QuickBooks.
  • Perform collections activities on past-due accounts, including contacting customers by phone and email to secure timely payment.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and account questions in a professional manner.
  • Manage accounts payable activities, including monitoring accounting email, entering vendor invoices into QuickBooks, and preparing checks for payment.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoice questions, missing documentation, and payment status.
  • Maintain organized accounting records and assist with other accounting and administrative duties as needed.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with maintaining accurate general ledger records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reviewing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Support financial reporting by maintaining accurate documentation and providing accounting data as needed.
  • Assist with audit requests and help ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and controls.
Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel required.
  • Collections experience required.
  • Associate degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Compensation:
This is a salary position starting at $50,000 annually.
