Our work supports a wide range of contracts and product types within the energy industry. The General Ledger (GL) Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting full-cycle accounting for multiple entities. This role performs month-end close activities, prepares journal entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts, maintains fixed assets, supports audits and regulatory filings, and collaborates with operations, commercial teams, vendors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute timely and accurate month-end close procedures. Prepare and review journal entries for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, and intercompany transactions. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, inventory, AP/AR). Analyze monthly variances and support internal management reporting. Assist with state tax filings and other regulatory requirements. Support AP/AR activities, weekly check/ACH processing, and cash management. Assist with 1099 reporting and other compliance requirements. Help streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Coordinate with operations, commercial teams, vendors, and customers. Support team projects and perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; energy and manufacturing industry experience preferred. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting processes. CPA or CPA-track preferred.
Skills and Experience:
Proficiency with accounting software ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, W Energy). Sage Intacct is preferred. Advanced Excel skills; strong computer proficiency. Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
