Local accountancy firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer to join our growing public accounting firm in Baker City, OR. We work closely with individuals and local businesses throughout the community and are looking for someone who values professionalism, client relationships, and continued learning. This position offers a variety of work including tax preparation, payroll, bookkeeping, and client support. What You'll Do
  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts
  • Assist clients with tax planning and compliance matters
  • Process payroll and payroll tax filings
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll reports and W-2s
  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions including: Bank and credit card reconciliations, General ledger review, Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Communicate professionally with clients and support their accounting and tax needs What We're Looking For
  • One year professional office experience required
  • Minimum age 18
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or tax preparation preferred
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Lacerte, or similar accounting/tax software is helpful
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Professional communication and client service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent practical experience welcomed Why Join Our Firm?
