Opportunity:
This position will support the Finance Operations Team, which includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Treasury. The role will perform a range of professional level finance and accounting duties, including cost allocation, financial reporting, account analysis and reconciliation, and financial information systems development and testing. It will also participate in developing computer-based programs, training users, evaluating accounting systems, and implementing system or process changes.
Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Internal controls and auditing practices Ability to understand and analyze management accounting needs within a large governmental organization Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public from diverse backgrounds Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, systems, procedures, and controls Understanding of public sector accounting requirements, administrative structures, and regulations affecting financial operations Minimum Qualifications To review the complete classification, including the full list of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position, use this link:
Accountant II Class Specification Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business, or a related field; OR Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business, or a related field; OR two (2) years of experience in accounting, accounting operations, reconciliation, bookkeeping, financial analysis, or auditing.; OR High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years of experience in accounting, accounting operations, reconciliation, bookkeeping, financial analysis, or auditing. Additional Requirements Must pass a background check.
