The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities related to a diverse lease portfolio, ensuring compliance with
U.S. GAAP
(including ASC 842), and driving accurate and timely financial reporting. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Own and execute the end-to-end monthly close process for leasing-related accounts, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries Perform detailed account reconciliations with supporting schedules; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Manage lease accounting for a portfolio of contracts, including classification, recognition, modifications, reassessments, and terminations in accordance with ASC 842 Prepare analytics and variance explanations for management and support FP&A with financial insights Develop, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure audit compliance Coordinate with external auditors by preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and supporting testing procedures Partner with operations, legal, and asset management teams to ensure accurate contract interpretation and accounting treatment Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within lease accounting and close processes Mentor of junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment Support special projects, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc analysis as needed

Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within leasing, financial services, or asset-intensive industries Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
with hands-on application of ASC 842 lease accounting Experience managing or significantly contributing to the month-end and year-end close processes Demonstrated ability to analyze complex transactions and apply technical accounting guidance Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, and reconciliations Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Requirements :
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing certification Prior experience with lease accounting systems (e.g., LeaseQuery, Visual Lease) Experience with ERP systems such as
