JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Performs a wide variety of accounting functions which includes preparing, maintaining and monitoring various financial/productivity reports for outside regulatory agencies and auditors. Responsible for general ledger maintenance, reconciliation of accounts, internal/external financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, budgeting and ad-hoc financial analysis.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunity Health Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage and Commercial Large Group plans. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. College-level coursework in accounting or related field required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting preferred. Two (2) years experience doing the full scope of accounting work for a business required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting may substitute for this experience. Experience with computers required. Experience with MS applications preferred.
