Job Description

Job Overview Hansen Hunter is experiencing significant growth, and we are expanding our Accounting team to support that trajectory. This Senior Accountant role is designed for someone with a strong accounting foundation who can own core accounting processes today while helping build scalable processes, reporting, controls, and systems for the future. The Senior Accountant will initially have meaningful responsibility for both general ledger accounting and accounts payable (AP). This includes month-end close support, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid schedules, and financial reporting support, while also taking ownership of accounts payable processes across Ramp and NetSuite platforms. AP responsibilities will include vendor bill review, coding, approvals, payment support, reconciliations, and month-end AP close activities. A key objective of this role will be to tighten and document the AP process so it can be efficiently transitioned to another team member within the next 6 to 12 months as the department grows. As the AP process transitions, this role is expected to expand further into general ledger ownership, reporting, audit, acquired company integration, and process improvement responsibilities. Success Profile Owns AP with discipline today, while building the process so it can be delegated cleanly in the future. Understands the accounting impact behind transactions rather than simply processing them. Can move from detailed reconciliations to higher-level reporting and project support as the company grows. Brings curiosity and judgment to process improvement, audit readiness, NetSuite optimization, and integration work. Is motivated by the opportunity to grow with the company and take on increasing responsibility over time. Responsibilities Manage core general ledger accounting from the start, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, prepaid amortization schedules, close checklists, and month-end reporting support Serve in a leading support role for the annual audit, including preparing PBC schedules, responding to auditor requests, supporting testing, and coordinating follow-up items Partner with stakeholders to resolve invoice issues, approval delays, vendor questions, and process exceptions Manage the accounts payable process in Ramp and NetSuite, including invoice intake, coding, approval routing, vendor bill review, payment support, AP reconciliations, and AP close procedures. Develop and maintain a tight monthly AP process that ensures expenses are captured completely and accurately, payments are processed timely, and recurring vendor obligations are not missed. Develop and maintain AP process documentation, checklists, saved searches, reporting, and controls to support future handoff of transactional AP work. Own bank account reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and other balance sheet account reconciliations. Analyze transactions for proper GAAP treatment and broader financial reporting impact, not just transactional processing. Maintain fixed asset accounting records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, reconciliations to the general ledger, and support for related reporting and audit requests. Partner with CFO and stakeholders to update monthly reporting packages, management reporting, variance analysis, and supporting schedules. Support accounting and system integration work for acquired companies, including data cleanup, vendor and customer setup, opening balance support, process alignment, and post-close reporting needs. Contribute to continuous improvement of NetSuite reporting, saved searches, workflows, controls, and accounting processes as the company grows. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve accuracy, strengthen controls, and reduce manual work. Leverage AI tools and existing cloud-based applications (e.g., NetSuite, Ramp) to automate, streamline, and continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions, including data entry, reconciliations, reporting, and workflow management. Perform other accounting, reporting, and finance projects as directed by management. Skills Strong accounting foundation with practical understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting. Hands-on NetSuite experience, including AP, general ledger, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close support. Experience with Ramp or similar cloud-based expense management, corporate card, and AP automation platforms preferred. Ability to operate at both the transaction/process level and the broader accounting/reporting level. Meticulous, organized, and able to create clean, documented and repeatable processes. Comfortable in a growing, changing environment with evolving systems, processes, and priorities. Self-motivated with strong follow-through, judgment, confidentiality, and ownership mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines. Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with operations, HR, IT, internal clients, vendors, and external auditors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred, with public accounting or multi-entity company experience a plus Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting support Proficiency in NetSuite required or strongly preferred Experience with Ramp, Bill.com, Coupa, Expensify, Concur, or similar AP/expense management tools preferred Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including comfort with lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and reconciliations Strong written and verbal communication skills CPA or CPA track is a plus but not required
