Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accountant to support financial documentation, audit coordination, and reporting activities for a long-term contract opportunity in Wilsonville, Oregon. This role works closely with finance, grants, and program teams to assemble accurate records, monitor audit-related deliverables, and help maintain strong financial controls. The ideal candidate brings a detail-focused approach, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to keep sensitive information organized and audit-ready.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and prepare financial records, schedules, and supporting materials requested during audits and related reviews.
- Monitor open audit items, track deadlines, and help ensure responses are submitted in a timely and organized manner.
- Examine financial documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment before materials are provided to auditors or internal stakeholders.
- Assist with reconciling audit schedules, account details, and financial reports under the guidance of the finance leadership team.
- Maintain well-structured files for grant-related accounting records, including budgets, invoices, expense support, payroll allocations, and other backup documentation.
- Partner with finance, grants, and program personnel to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and clarify supporting details.
- Keep audit logs, reference files, and documentation records current while following confidentiality requirements and record-retention practices.
- Record questions, responses, outstanding items, and follow-up actions to strengthen audit preparedness and support ongoing compliance efforts.
- Provide broader accounting and administrative assistance to the Controller and finance team as business needs require. Requirements
- Experience supporting audit preparation, compliance documentation, and financial record review in an accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and journal entry processing.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify accuracy and consistency across financial documents and reports.
- Proficiency in organizing sensitive records, tracking multiple requests, and meeting deadlines in a structured manner.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and validate information.
- Familiarity with grant-related financial documentation is helpful.
- Capability to manage administrative and analytical accounting support tasks in a fast-paced setting.
