POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee general accounting operations for TargetPath while also supporting financial operations across a portfolio of client accounts. This role is both internal and client-facing, requiring the ability to manage core accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and partner with client teams to support their accounting, reporting, and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple entities and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core Accounting Operations Manage daily accounting operations across TargetPath and assigned client accounts, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payments Manage vendor and customer reconciliations and inquiries Handle credit card transaction entry and reconciliation Manage payroll processing and related functions (primarily internal, with potential client support) Audit and process expense reports Other Accounting duties as needed Client Accounting & Advisory Support Support accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of TargetPath client accounts Serve as a day-to-day accounting resource for clients, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting Assist clients in establishing and improving accounting processes, systems, and documentation Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information Support client budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed Help troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and operational challenges across client environments Partner with internal TargetPath team members to deliver high-quality, consistent financial support across accounts Month-End & Year-End Processes Execute month-end closing procedures including: o Bank reconciliations o Inventory reconciliation to third party logistic partner reports o Prepaid expenses and accruals o Payroll entries o Reclassification entries o Asset and freight capitalization and amortization Perform year-end closing processes o Prepare 1099 forms and manage W-9 reconciliations Financial Planning & Analysis Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and anomalies Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Support financial planning initiatives and objectives Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures Maintain compliance with tax regulations Support external audits by providing documentation and collaborating with auditors Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls Promote compliance standards among team members System & Documentation Management Utilize and maintain accounting software systems Manage financial data organization and documentation Monitor and organize AP and AR email inboxes
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent experience in an accounting role Experience supporting multiple entities or client accounts in a consulting or agency environment is strongly preferred Comfort working in a client-facing capacity with strong communication and relationship management skills Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, standards, and tax Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft office programs in Windows, including Excel, Word, and Outlook required Strong Proficiency in QuickBooks required as well as accounting software and databases Working knowledge of ERP systems such as NetSuite is desirable Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as assigned Willingness and ability to work within fast-paced environment, and to be self-sufficient Demonstrated ability to create internal processes as needed Adept at multitasking with an ability to be highly organized and timely in the completion of work objectives Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success
